Sunshine was an amazing cat, and a wonderful friend. He died at 5:17am, on Sunday, April 5.
I loved him a lot.
I found him when I was 17, at a very difficult time in life. He’s been with me through a lot. I don’t think I am exaggerating when I say I think being with him led me to make better decisions, and learn to be a better person.

Willows in Spring Flood
I made this image in the early spring on the Ottawa River when the water was very high; these trees are not typically submerged. I had a strong feeling of what I wanted the print to look like and made my exposures based on that, working backwards, so to speak, from my visualization of the print to the scene in front of me.
